January 6, 2024 — Navy Pier/Lake Michigan
Six club members drove through the snow to fish at North Point Marina, but were skunked. No one made the trip down to Navy Pier.
January 20, 2024 — Nielsen’s Channels
Seven club members and one guest fished in cold conditions. Fish were biting early, but it seemed like the schools started moving around later in the morning and the bite slowed. Although many bluegill and crappie were caught, only four fish were caught for points, all bluegill. Al Silcroft won the big fish contest with a 7-1/4” bluegill.

April 6, 2024 — Rock River/Lake Koshkonong
Nine club members fished the Rock River outing, most from shore but two by boat. The weather was nice, but with all the recent rain the river level was high and the current was strong. We mostly used 3-way river rigs with 1.5-2 ounces of weight to maintain bottom contact. We caught 13 walleyes in the 15" - 16 3/4" range, and Jason Cashmore won the big fish honors with the 16 3/4 incher.
April 20, 2024 — Fox Chain
Thirteen club members fished our first boat outing of the year. It was very cold and windy, but we managed to catch 25 fish that qualified for points under our scoring system. Jig/minnow or blade baits caught most of the fish. We caught 9 walleye, 2 catfish, 1 smallmouth bass, 2 white bass, 9 yellow bass, and 2 crappie. Ward won big fish honors with a 24.75” walleye.
May 4, 2024 — Lake Michigan
Ten members fished in great conditions—low wind, light waves, and fish biting. We caught 47 coho, 1 king, and 2 lake trout.
May 18, 2024 — Private Walleye Lake
Fifteen members fished on a nice spring day. We caught 16 largemouth bass, 33 walleye, 3 bluegill, 6 crappie, and 32 yellow bass for a total of 310 points.
June 8, 2024 — Lake Elizabeth
Seven members enjoyed a beautiful, overcast day with active fish. We caught 17 largemouth bass, 3 walleyes, 3 northern pike, 4 bluegill, and 1 rock bass for 125 points.
June 22, 2024 — Private Bass Lake
Thirteen members fished on a perfect weather day. We caught 41 largemouth bass (including four between 18 and 22 inches) and 7 bluegill for 232 total points.
July 13, 2024 — Brown’s Lake
Eleven members fished on a nice day and caught 45 largemouth bass and 8 panfish for a total of 251 points.
July 27, 2024 — Round Lake
Twelve members fished on a hot and muggy morning. Unfortunately, the fish weren’t biting and we only caught 8 largemouth bass, 2 bluegills, and 1 crappie for a total of 53 points.
August 10, 2024 — Lake Delavan
Thirteen members fished on a very windy, but pleasant day. We caught 10 largemouth bass, 2 smallmouth bass, 2 northern pike, 6 bluegills, and 1 rock bass for a total of 91 points.
August 24, 2024 — Powers Lake
Twelve members fished and caught 20 largemouth bass, including Ward's 16 incher which won the big fish prize. The most productive baits were Senkos, nail worms, and other plastics. Many bass that were not large enough to score were caught. We also caught 1 northern pike, 2 bluegills, 4 rock bass/warmouth, 1 perch, and 1 crappie for a total of 113 points.
September 14, 2024 — Fox Chain
Eight members caught 1 walleye, 1 catfish, 14 bluegills, 1 perch, 2 white bass, and 4 yellow bass for a total of 31 points.
October 5-6, 2024 — Lake Koshkonong
Seventeen club members and one guest fished in pleasant but windy weather. Due to the wind, most of us stayed in the river fishing bridge footings and rock piles. We caught 51 walleye, 4 sauger, 5 smallmouth bass, 1 largemouth bass, 1 northern pike, 3 channel catfish, and a bunch of panfish that were of scoreable size. Fishing was steady but challenging, with sporadic flurries as schools moved through. The water was warm for October, so that might have affected the action.
