Fox River, DePere - March 26, 2021
Our first open water outing of the year was at DePere, WI in the Fox River on March 26. Six club members and two guests fished the outing chasing walleyes. The weather was windy and cold but dry.
Pre-fishing on Wednesday and Thursday was much more productive size-wise, with 5 walleye in the 22-23" range caught. During the outing the members caught 17 walleye in the 15-17" range, while guest and former member Joe Baron got a 25-incher to take the big fish prize. It was great to see Joe Baron and his dad Don (also a former member) at the outing. Mike Hall put on a walleye fishing clinic with his blade bait, catching about 20 walleyes during the outing hours.
